Tony Meggs, Founder and CEO
Tony founded BuyCasts in October of 2006. As a business strategist and entrepreneur, he has more than two decades of experience helping US businesses grow profitably. He is experienced in building and managing strategic marketing programs within the business-to-business marketplace and helping clients yield the highest returns on their marketing dollars. Tony is a serial entrepreneur and is always looking for new and disruptive business concepts that empower the average American to leverage his economic footprint for personal and social gain. Tony has built a reputation as a visioneer who foresees successful business models within the online marketplace.
Prior to BuyCasts, Tony owned and managed Caleb Incorporated, a sales and marketing consultancy, as well as served as Vice President of B2B Strategy for PRC, Incorporated. In these roles, Tony developed and implemented innovative business practices that help large multi-national companies engage and acquire new customers within their small business and mid-market segments. Tony is also the founder of MyCronomics, LLC and has developed a portfolio of intellectual property specializing in the areas of permissive marketing, database marketing, and peer-to-peer healthcare.
Robert Baldwin, CFO
Robert has more than 17 years experience in leading, managing, and growing companies. He has developed an expertise in organizational and financial management through senior management roles held in both for-profit and not-for-profit entities. Robert is one of the world’s few experts in the peer-to-peer healthcare market, an exciting new way for consumers to pay for their medical expenses, and has recently served as the CEO of Christian Care Ministry. Under his leadership, CCM has grown its membership base to more than 50,000 and revenues to more $60 million.
Prior to BuyCasts, Robert served as a Controller at Intersil Corporation, a $300 million spin-off of Harris Corporation, and helped manage the company’s largest and most profitable product line. Additionally, he has served in corporate banking positions at First Union National Bank. Robert holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The Crummer School at Rollins College.
Lori Sprague, COO
Lori is a business executive and operational specialist with more than 20 years experience in helping Fortune 500 companies optimize their direct sales and marketing channels. Lori’s professional experience has centered on building and delivering high-performance teleservices within the B2B marketplace. She’s is one of the country’s most respected executives in managing sales programs that help large multi-national companies penetrate their small business and mid-market marketplaces.
Prior to her involvement with BuyCasts, Lori was the Chief Operating Officer at Hancock Information Group, a sales and marketing outsource firm, which was sold to PRC, Incorporated in 2001. Lori continued her association with PRC as Executive Vice President of their B2B Sales Division and oversaw a portfolio of more than 50 client relationships and a sales staff of more than 500.
Jim Gillespie, CTO
Jim is a business executive and technologist with an expertise in technology development and operational management. He has more than 20 years of experience helping companies develop and implement best practices for systems development and operations management. Jim developed a commitment to engineering best practices as one of the early contributors to Rational Software during its growth to $850 million in sales.
Prior to BuyCasts, Jim served as the COO for Christian Care Ministries where he led the development of its peer-to-peer healthcare sharing platform and operations. In 2001 he co-founded Chiara Corporation, a software engineering consultancy specializing in defense engineering. Jim also supported software and systems developments for the Space Shuttle Program at Johnson Space Center.
Steven Thomas, General Counsel
Steve is a registered patent attorney and a named partner in the Melbourne, FL law firm of Hayworth, Chaney, and Thomas P.A. He practices patent, trademark, copyright, contracts, and corporate and business law. Steve founded the intellectual property division of the law firm in 2004 after spending more than 20 years in the defense industry in hardware and software engineering, contracts management and negotiation, and research and development. Steve is admitted to practice law before the Florida courts, the Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC), and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He holds a Jurist Doctorate from the Barry University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
